One of the most significant individuals in Latin music history is Marco Antonio Solís. He co-founded the Mexican grupera band Los Bukis in the 1970s, which launched his five-decade career as a balladeer. The band sold millions of CDs and played to packed houses in stadiums all across Mexico and the United States. Five Latin Grammy Awards have been given to Solís as a solo artist in honor of his accomplishments as a composer, arranger, producer, performer, and creative director. More than 50 of his songs—including more than ten No. 1 hits—have appeared on Billboard's Hot Latin Songs list. Major Latin performers such as Enrique Iglesias, Marc Anthony, Marisela, Raphael, Lucero, and Rocío Durcal have all worked with Solís.
